Not sure if they calculated the inflation since billion dollars now was worth a lot more then.
It is?
In the last decade, total wealth in the world increased, our living standard improved, our lifetime expanded but wealth distribution remains the problem. It's an issue we are struggling with for a long time and as it seems so far, we are nowhere near finding the solution.
Isnt that interesting. The standard of living improved yet people are upset about the wealth distribution?
Certainly, there are areas of the world that certainly need attention and an uplifting of their economies. Without a doubt, there are still way too many people starving in the world.
However, when we look at some of the advancements, especially in developed countries, people over look what took place. Consider the mobile phone, something that, 30 years ago, was only for the wealthy. Today, everyone over the age of 6 seems to have a phone which, by the way, does a lot more than the ones did 15 years ago. In fact, people's phone are light years ahead of where a $10,000 computer was 35 years ago.
Over time, we get "wealthier" without realizing it.
For example, I am sure a computer science degree from MIT is pretty valuable. How about getting it for free?

Just an example of how things change yet most people miss it.
