Yeah well we know what arrogance can do. It can often blind people in some unforeseen ways. They might have been positive but they still have a lot of challenges. And the demographics is something that nobody can escape. Plus as much as the US is a sob on the international stage, it does have allies from time to time. Sure we piss them off regularly but they put up with us because they want access to our market. The Chinese are not trust internationally. So they might be gaining and could even overtake the US in size of economy but I would think that shortlived. Their demographics are going to catch up to them quickly.

Plus their output per capita still sucks. It is still at developing world level.
