Wealthy Chinese citizens have been moving their money out of that country for 5 years. They invest it all over the world. A number of years ago, a lot of Chinese money moved into mines in Africa. They bought a lot up there. In the US they purchased a lot of real estate and much of their money entered the US stock markets.

It isnt that the wealth, per se, belongs to the Chinese as in government but is owned by Chinese citizens.

The US is not the only country these individual sent money to. They invested in different countries in the world.
