Will Crude become Obsolete in 10 years time?
Not a chance.
In the United States alone, there are over 280 million vehicles, 99% of them using fossil fuel. EV sales account for 2% of the yearly sales, meaning fossil fuel powered vehicles still amount to a 98% clip.
Even if some of the most aggressive estimates are correct and we see EV sales reach 30% in 2023, that still is a lot of fossil fuels being used.
The average length of car ownership in the US is now over 11 years. Hell, they are giving out 7 and 8 years financing deals.
So it is going to take a few decades to work through all these old vehicles.
And we arent even counting airplanes which are all powered by fossil fuel. The life of a commercial airplane is over 30 years.
They arent going anywhere anytime soon.
