You are not alone in your feelings about the barista. I've heard the same from several other people.
I have given him a second chance after he insulted one of my friends a couple of years ago. So far, he hasn't fucked up his second chance with me.
I honestly would not assume he will be working there very long. It seems inevitable that he will be fired or quit.
