The good and bad aspect of social media?
Social media is a internet based form of communication, it is also an interactive technologies that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, personal interests and other form of expressions.

The social media enables it's users to access quick electronic communication content such as: personal information, videos, and photos.
Ways we can engage social media is via our laptops, tablets and smartphones.
Reasons social media is good.
- You build your brand:
One benefit of social media platforms it enables marketing, don't just enables it's users to communicate with one another, it has also made room for brand owners to be able to market their brands.
That's why today you can hear people talking about their online business and the good part is that these businesses do grow. It's role in helping businesses is very significant, it facilities communication with customers. When you connect with interested leads you expose them to your brand, the ability to be posting about your brand always allows you to build your brand recognition repeatedly with your audience.

The more people get exposed to your brand the more the brand becomes familiar to them. Social media helps you build your brand cause it enables sharing, you can share, re-tweet, repin on these platforms this means your followers can share you content with their friends, families and loved ones, which exposed your brand to more people.
- It connects the world
Social media has changed the way we all interact with each other online, it gives us the ability to discover what's happening in the world In real time, to connect with each other and stay in touch with long distance friendship.
It also enables us to find common grounds with others online and making the world seem more accessible.
I've also been hearing news of some couples who met on social media, them become friends, from there they started developing feeling for one another and then later got married. Social media can also be a platform where people find Love.
Reasons I feel social media is bad.
- Materialism:
It is said that material things do not convert to happiness or satisfaction, we can have the whole to ourselves and still not be satisfied with it. The more we see things the more we want them.
Social media makes it difficult for people to stay on ground, I think social media is major cause of materialism among our youths. Not only does the advertising we see on a daily basis play a role most persons now equate self worth and human value according to physical show of wealth.
Many youths now prefer to be on the fast lane focusing on instant wealth without interest in long suffering, they want to drive the latest cars, wear the most expensive clothes and accessories, use the latest phones and even want to travel around the globe exploring fantasy.
Social media has also made it even more complex as youths and teenagers are exposed to unlimited images of luxury lifestyle that ends up putting them on undue pressure, most persons spend time comparing themselves to their friend and colleague based on pictures they post on social media that feels being left behind so they want to feel among.
Our young girls spend so much money on clothes that they don't need, they have completely accepted beauty and fashion as a way of showcasing their worth to the world. It is mostly as a result of what they see on social media.
- Fraudulent acts:
social media is now a place of carrying out fraudulent activities, where people are being deceived.
I can remember early part of 2020 a guy chatted me up on Instagram and was telling me about this investment platform then I wasn't aware of this online fraud, he asked me to send him ten thousand naira to get twenty thousand naira in the next two hours馃檭馃檭.
Then I was very interested, I looked for all means to get ten thousand naira of which I did then sent it to him, I was waiting for my part then he chatted me up again and said I should make it twenty thousand naira to be eligible for forty thousand naira then I knew something was wrong then later on he blocked on Instagram that was how I lost ten thousand naira.
It was really heart broken, then imagine some one robing you of your life time savings.
