We Talk Friday
(WTF)
This is a semi-regular series that I will run on Fridays to hold discussions on a current topic from the week gone. The aim is to keep them light and conversational, though some might be heavier - regardless of the content topic itself though, just have some fun engaging and discussing with whoever happens to put in the effort in the comments section below.

1. Advert Maxxing
What is going on here behind the corner flags in the US?
The US is the king over-consumption so it should be no surprise that they are willing to pay top dollar to sit on the side lines of a World Cup match, stuffing their faces with hotdogs.
Foodmaxxing.
But on top of that, there is now a "hydration break" half way through a half - yes, that means that for this world cup, football is now played in what is generally seen in other sports as, quarters. This is not related to the temperature, it is mandatory and is a three minute stoppage at the 22 minute mark. This is so while spectators are chowing down foodmaxxing the advertising signage barrier, the run of play can be broken completely, and advertisers can advertmaxx the fuck out of the World Cup.
Good job FIFA.
2. The First Trillion
So, due to the IPO of SpaceX, Musk has become the world's first trillionaire. Apparently in 2018, Bezos was the first person to have a personal wealth of 100 billion, and now Musk has over 10x that in eight years. And no one sees the issue with this? The aggressive concentration of wealth over the last couple decades and especially since the global financial crisis, has been extreme to say the least.
You want to know something interesting? In the US, Just three individuals own as much wealth as the bottom fifty percent of the entire population. But hey....
Greed is good.
3. Only the Lonely
From a study of 61,000 young people between 11 and 19.
Twenty-nine percent of 11-13 year-olds — and 47 percent of 13-19 year-olds — reported using social media between three and five hours per day. Seven percent of the younger set — and 17 percent of the older respondents — said they used social media more than five hours a day.
I think that generation should be written off. Perhaps we can learn from the error of our ways of getting kids addicted to endless slop for profit, and not fuck over the next generation.
Unfortunately, profitmaxxing reigns supreme.
