The aim is to keep them light and conversational, though some might be heavier - regardless of the content topic itself though, just have some fun engaging and discussing with whoever happens to put in the effort in the comments section below.
We Talk Friday Ep. 66: Any Versary
1. Eleven Years and Still Here
Our daughter's due date was the 14th of August, but she graciously came 4 hours early to squeeze into the 13th, so that she could have her own day unmuddied by our wedding anniversary. What this has meant is that we don't really do much for our anniversary, because we concentrate more effort on her birthday. However, now that she is a bit older, she will go to a friend's place for the night and we will spend an evening having dinner and at a hotel in the city. My wife booked the hotel about six months ago on a deal she saw. The last time she booked a deal hotel, we ended up in the Canary Islands, in a hotel for "adults only" where the average was about 79 years of age.
I have a couple questions surrounding marriage.
- Those who are long-term married, what do you think is the most important thing?
- For everyone: Why do you think people are so bad at relationships now?
- Are you good at human relationships?
2. Wink Wink, Coff Coff
While not identifying a causal relationship, a Finnish study found a correlation between coffee drinkers and lower total body fat and visceral fat, and higher skeletal muscle mass. Not only that, men who consumed more coffee had higher levels of testosterone. The study was based on 2200 people born in 1966 using data when they were 46 years of age.
Almost two years, I went from drinking a lot of coffee to having only one cup in the morning, but perhaps now I should again up my dosage and become a real man.
3. Own Goal Number One
“I know that oil is down today, and it’s way down from the highs in the early days of the conflict. That’s goal number one: keep oil and gas cheap for Americans all over our country, and then obviously goal number two is ensure that Iran never gets a nuclear weapon.”
So.... Iran not getting a nuclear weapon isn't the main goal of the conflict? So, the main reason now to end the conflict is oil prices, but the reason prices are up is because they started a conflict to stop something that is no longer a priority. The US "administration" doesn't seem to have a clear idea of what they are doing - which is probably because they have little idea about what they want to do - except make rich people richer.
Also, as the US is the largest oil producing country on earth, why are prices up in the US?
