Well, my finger was fast enough!!
I managed to get a Waka Spiritblade after all, and it was far more stressful than I had imagined it to be, as I was second guessing what I would be confronted with. Seems the bots were confused too and even though some people did get multiples, it seems they had to buy one at a time, which was what I was hoping for - at least, that is what I have seen. I would like to see how the distribution looks.
But even though it was one at a time, the 500 of them sold in seconds and I hope it will come out how long it actually took.
Assuming the price of vouchers were 2 dollars and the SPS was bought at the current price of 12 cents, that means that the cost of a Waka was around $1600 dollars and the cheapest on the market currently is $2390. But, that is around $800,000 spent on a single game asset in less than a minute!
That has to get some publicity, right?
There is one gold on the market at the reasonable price of $150,000 - good luck with that!
However, while that would be a quick profit for the normal foil of around 50%, it is also pretty risky considering that in order to do that, you would need vouchers and SPS - however some people have that anyway, so it really didn't cost that much. For example for me, I do get SPS from the drop daily, so I could save up the 5000 if I didn't want to buy - but I have been buying over the last month or two anyway. I also didn't need the 500 vouchers, as due to my SPS staked, I already had 140 that I hadn't used on packs, so when I bought the 360 more at a price of $2.30, it was only an extra $828 worth... only.
While I could turn a fast profit on it, I suspect that in the longrun, this is going to be a pretty decent play card (once I learn how to use it) and appreciate in value. Not only that, this is a pre-maxed summoner and might be useful when LAND goes live later in the year (?) and as a Legendary, it has some decent CP behind it too - considering the newer card sets. It is currently renting for 210 DEC a day, but come the end of season, I am guessing that is going to go up.
As a "rare" opportunity to observe myself in what is a relatively unusual set of conditions, I was quite anxious going into the sale and even though I was chatting with the boys (who thankfully all got one at least too) in Discord, I could feel that my body was quite tense. Even now that I have the card, I can still feel the presence of the tension, so I will step away front he computer for a while (as I have been sitting here for 12 hours already today) and get some food.
I actually have a night to myself for the first time in probably two years, as my wife used some of her flexi-time to take the day off from work tomorrow, and decided to take Smallsteps to a Spa Hotel for the night, where they can swim this evening and again in the morning before checking out.
My wife booked earlier in the week and my daughter found out about this trip yesterday (just in case she fell ill), and she was really excited. However, come morning, she was anxious too, as she doesn't know the place and was worried about spending the night sleeping away from home. She wanted to come home instead and then return there in the morning. But, after talking to her for a bit and putting her mind at ease, she was happy to make the trip, albeit with a little less jumping up and down than normal. I have already got a couple video messages from them and they are having a lot of fun and, Smallsteps looks very, very tired.
So, now that all of this is done, I guess I can go grab a pizza and come back to play a bit more with my Waka. So far, I have tried to force it and have lost every game and 100 points to drop out of Champion 3 - not ideal, but I will keep chipping away and if lucky, get into Champion 2 this season. If not.. there is always next.
Waka Waka.
