Who would have thought that the most pathetic outcome of the World Cup would be Donald Trump?
well, maybe it was predictable, since he is generally the most pathetic thing no matter what he gets involved with. And this time, once again, he has made the US look pathetic too. In what kind of world does a president call to have a football red card overturned/reviewed? And then say it "wasn't a foul" and then also complain about the system of missing a game due to a red card.
Corrupt as fuck.
And this is why the US is such a dangerous country, because it normalises bad behaviour and influences others to follow suit. Anything to get an advantage, anything to make a little more profit, anything to take a little more control.
It is a race to the bottom.
The US is a global leader and as such sets the example for others to follow. But where it is leading us all is down into an abyss of self-absorption, greed, corruption, violence and the breakdown of society. And the average American will keep defending the system, because they have been conditioned that it is the best system in the world, despite all the poverty, homelessness, crime, drug abuse and loneliness.
And the rest of the world follows along.
Not because individuals want to, but because individuals are beholden to systems that look to replicate the profit at any cost model, so that a few people in each country can become obscenely wealthy. And perhaps "obscene" is a good word for that level of wealth, since it means offensive and it is very likely that it could be interpreted as a type of violence. And it is not necessarily that the wealthy person did anything wrong, rather that the system is built to do as it does, increasingly take from the many in order to enrich the few. The system isn't built to improve society or humanity - it is built to monopolise and concentrate resources.
It is built to harm, not improve.
And, because of the way it functions, it will continually put those in power who will work in service to the process. It can't help it, because that is the coded pattern and that is the way it has to play out. So, people like Trump will be business leaders and in positions of power, and they in turn will influence the next round of operators. It will get worse and worse, because like puts like in power, and each iteration is greedier, more power-hungry, more self-absorbed than the last.
And it will all collapse eventually.
And it will start again, as it has done over and over, because we will not change the system. We will not do what it takes to make a system that supports humanity to grow and thrive, because we are influenced to believe that what we are doing now, no matter how obvious it is that it is a flawed and failing system, is the only way it can be.
Trump is not the problem with the system, he is a symptom of it. He is just one of the many individuals in positions of power that keep it going, keep on milking it, at our expense. And because of the way economics works, it is just going to speed up and get increasingly inequal between people, as the system runs its monopolisation plays to create widening gaps.
Yes, there are corrupt people.
The system rewards them for being so.
