Has it changed much from what steemit was a few years ago?

In many ways not, in many ways yes - There are some new communities that are doing well now, like LEO Finance and NFT Showroom for art content -the chain is improving technically and there is a lot of potential for development in the near-term. As far as posting goes - much is the same, post, comment - have fun.
