I reckon it is why so many child stars end up wrecks - they do not have the maturity to manage themselves, let alone themselves wih a lot of money and everything and anything on offer.

And yes, power does tend to accentuate flaws - but I wonder if it has to, or are there people who have their strengths accentuated instead.
