The details of plenty

OI000315.jpg

Another day worked
another life it could have changed
And to the darkness I asked
but from the darkness silence
no guidance forthcoming at all.

OI000311.jpg

To each their own
and all must compete
to find a way through the unknown
And blown away to the reckoning day
judged on impression alone.

OI000312.jpg

A twig breaking underfoot
and the crack carried upon the wind
The song of the lost
to the ears of the searching -
a discovery none wanted to make.

OI000310.jpg

The rain becomes fire
and the fevered run hotter still
When they call for the end
of what they never understood
the start of the end arrives.

OI000309.jpg

Each wants large slice
of prize they believe is theirs
Though without chopping wood
nor carrying a pail
gifts stand dusty upon shelf.

OI000305.jpg

Just a moment had passed
and an eternity was lost
The opportunity missed
will no longer return
and they got all that they earned.

OI000321.jpg

A shortcut here
and a dalliance there
enjoying the passing of time.
Until the gap is too large to catch
and life is all far behind.

OI000323.jpg

Living with unknown crowds
surrounded by those who adored
Nothing more than to see
the best of it all
and engineer the final demise.

OI000308.jpg

Left alone as asked
to focus on task
and reflect on a fragmented heart
To make it again whole
as if once it ever was.

OI000319.jpg

We know the best way
and we know we can go
and we know all we need
The only thing we don't know
is where and how to start.

OI000322.jpg

This life is simple
it is just
it just isn't what we desire
We can think and create it all
except the fill for the void.

OI000317.jpg

Again and then another
from flower to flower
trying for a life of ease
Working hard at very little
to give meaning to nothing much.

OI000306.jpg

Trickle it down
petals will fall
and the ground lay littered by color
Living evermore thin to wait
starving in a world of plenty.
