If there was only one sunrise left, one sunset left to report,
What would be the last act, the last word, the last thought?
What would linger on after the darkness fell to ground,
And where would that leave the future, when no one is around?
A last drink, a last laugh, a last feeling of shame,
Who looks back from the mirror, when there's no one else to blame?
Not even paved with good intentions, for what was intended gave,
And once finally in hand, will recognition adorn the grave?
The green of eye, the green of tree, the green of profit first,
The green of envy and jealousy, is there no end to this thirst?
Drink it up and push it down, tricked with the easiest of swaps,
Attraction and distraction, the bars of the prison that shops?
No way ahead, no way back, no way to change the course,
No will to to even try to change, no choice except by force?
Close the eyes and surrender, for there is no decision to make,
The world of humanity stolen, and there's nothing left to take.
One sunrise left, one sunset until the final sign.
Make a move, speak a mind, think for the last time.
For that darkness comes for us all on this very day,
All proof of who we were, will all be washed away.
Be part of the Hive discussion.
And you may be rewarded.
