Holes in the fence
Slipping past, as ghosts through walls
Nothing felt - but shiver down spine.
Vacant the eyes of the extracting ghouls
Never tried for their endless crimes.
Gates left unguarded by hubris' ladder
Heights to protect the few up above.
Listening to the discontent chatter,
Embracing their prize of obsessed love.
Undermining the cause and mining souls,
Breaking rungs and replacing with chain.
Lighting up heart, as sun through holes,
Nothing much left for anyone to claim.
The setting sun and the dawn as one,
Through night it held and by day fell.
And the waxing moon and the dying sun,
Ingredients combined, for broken spell.
Filling the space and patching the gaps,
Building anew on a challenging base.
Taking on weight and increasing stacks,
Never fast enough, no matter pace.
