I haven't posted in the Cinnamon Cup Coffee community before, despite being an avid coffee drinker. But, this Christmas is as good a time as any, since I got a Bialetti Moka pot as a gift. I have no ever had a stovetop coffee maker, bad was looking at one a few months back, but called off the purchase as unnecessary. It is still unnecessary, but a gift is a gift.
As it was a secret Santa deal, I heard after that the person who got me knew immediately what the gift would be. So that is nice. It is also in black, so it fits our decor.
Bonus.
The only "flaw" in the gift was the ground coffee, as it is a local blend. The problem I have with the locals, is that they are light roast. They tend to be too acidic for me, so I have learned to drink them with milk to balance.
I was surprised though, ad I don't know if it was this particular blend, or the way it was made in the Moka, but it wasn't as acidic as o was expecting.
Still needed milk.
But it was a good start.
I normally drink far too much coffee, so my plan is to get some decent blends, but rather than making pots like I normally do and then drinking iced coffee nice it cools, I will use the Moka instead. It puts an extra hurdle over having a cup, so I should drink less. Plus, it gives me more time to drink some water.
Oh, the other thing with this one is that it is for an induction stove, and it works well. Only a couple minutes from start to finish.
Though, cleanup is a bit more of a pain. Again, perhaps that puts another barrier in my coffee drinking to alter my habits.
And, this was a great fit for pyjama Christmas. Something new, something cool, something relaxing.
