Well, it has been an interesting 24 hours on Hive with the curation activity ongoing. I said last night I wasn't going to play because I was leaving it up to the smaller accounts, but I have had to take part too, otherwise a very small number of people would be taking a massive amount of curation returns. I can't balance much, but I guess it is something.

This will end in about 5 days and things will go back to normal, but it will be very interesting to see the numbers on who did what and when. I am looking forward to seeing the numbers that come out of this, like votes cast, HP:CR, highest CR earned, biggest change from the week prior and whatever else the statisticians can come up with to visualize it.

Not everyone likes what is going on and it is quite disruptive, but it is also a unique learning experience, a short-lived experiment that might not yield anything useful - but will at least be interesting. I don't mind the change in pace and the "unusual" of it, as well as seeing how people act and react.

Speaking of yield, I pulled the last of what I had out of PantherSwap, as while I was "safe" on the single sides, there hadn't been any updates from the team on Twitter for a couple days, and supposedly the Telegram channel was getting heavily restricted - that is a bad sign imo and as a result, I decided to get out of the project completely. Their loss is Cub's additional gain and I went into the Kingdoms heavily and hopefully it will give some decent returns going forward, with kinda peace of mind.

With all that is going on around the house of late with facing my own mortality and needing to more precisely plan to ensure my family is okay even if I am not, I am looking for a bit more "security", yet still not keen on too secure. Damn I would love if Hive and HIVE start performing going forward - that'd be amazing. A dollar or two a token and curation for many people is a highly viable revenue stream and as such, would also be for many people getting curated.

But, at the end of the day, my first and foremost fallback position is my work; my employed work and my business, and while I am currently "out of work" for a little while and will have some holidays in lieu after, I have to think about getting back in already.

One cool thing that happened today was that my department team of colleagues made a "get well" video for me, with clips of the ten of them saying hi, telling jokes, giving suggestions on what to watch and making fun of me. I told them very early on (the night I went into hospital) that I would likely be out for a while and they have really stepped up and taken on what I had to just drop at my feet. I feel really bad for having to burden them with my tasks, but one of the things I have done over the last couple years is build relationships with people where we can trust and rely on each other. It is important for both my work, as a contingency and for my job satisfaction.

I was speaking with my supervisor today about coming back and as keen as I am, I want to make sure I come back well. I don't want to go back too early and as a consequence, slow down my reentry into tasks. He knows how painful it was for me to say that, as he knows me well and understands how much I enjoy working, as well as how little time I have ever been out of work. Some people look for excuses not to go into the office, I am not that person.

But for now, I am forced away, my wife and daughter started their holidays today also and the weather will be perfect for a picnic by the lake tomorrow and a barbecue on Sunday. While my head hurts a fair amount still, I will also hope to start getting the camera out and taking some pictures, of random life as well as our house, which is slowly getting closer to ready for what we will do this summer. I haven't been able to take as many progress shots as I would have liked, since I am no longer doing the work.

However, next week it might be raining, which will then mean that we can start moving indoors and hopefully take advantage of a sale or two that is currently on. While it is great to get the house readyish, we actually don't have any furniture yet, and we have to get cupboards for the entrance, some glass cabinets for the dining room, as well as couches and whatever else for what is going to be a very "spartan" loungeroom. We aren't in a rush for these things of course, plus money is still an object that we don't have enough of for all of this - but window shopping is kind of like planning a holiday online - cheap.

It is only when you have to make the purchase that price matters.
