I don't know how she does it, but smallsteps@smallsteps still has energy after being out walking and playing around the city in the heat (25°c) nearly all day. Even now she is not wanting to settle - I am worn out though.

There is an old stable (Tallipiha) in the city that had been converted into an arts and crafts place with a couple animals for the kids to look at.

We hung out there for an hour or so and had a snack; home made apple pie and a cheesecake for the parents and a plain corn wafer thing for smallsteps@smallsteps - she hasn't complained once... Yet.

This is where we sat, it is quite a cute place.

There is a playground there too and smallsteps@smallsteps excitedly went to the slide until she touched it and it was scorching hot. I remember as a kid the slides in Australia and you could literally fry an egg on them in the summer.

Instead we just sat around and walked to see what was on offer, like this glass worker.

And this pony that was actually really cute and fat, but in this shot looks like a psycho's horse.

We then went for a walk around the city and I decided to put my actifit@actifit app on which seemed to chew the battery.

I will go out on a limb and take a guess that one of them turned 5.

The city is full of flowers at the moment, but it doesn't really offset all of the roadworks that are ongoing while they put in the infrastructure for the tram. It is pretty ugly at the moment.

We spent some time in the central kids park too but again, there is absolutely no shade provided (which I find really weird considering skin cancer warnings) and most of the equipment was too warm to sit on. The swings got some afternoon shade.

We ended the day with sushi on a gift card I got for taking some photos for a graduation. The only thing better than sushi, is free sushi. Well, it was about 10 hours work worth of photography and editing, so not quite free :D

I didn't take photos of the food...

These days are few and far between so it was nice to be out with the family for once. The next few weeks are forecasted to be warm, but I don't have holidays until a week in August so I who knows what the weather will be. May as well enjoy while we can.
