The UK is the outlier in Europe now when it comes to govt borrowing rates, economically we move fairly much in step with Europe, regardless of what anyone thinks about Brexit, the differences between what happens in the UK and what happens in France is marginal, except for one key difference, it costs the UK govt more to borrow.
Truss was a tipping point I feel. I can't see anything the UK can do to grow faster than the Eurozone, so we will continue to build debt faster. We are ahead of the European curve in a rather viscous cycle
Election cycle driven policies don't help. Populist, lowest common denominator politics don't help. Trade friction with our closest markets doesn't help.
Hard to see the silver lining here.
