Hello, dear fellows in the Hive Universe, especially the people who love traveling to explore the beauty everywhere around the world. I also love visiting new places when I get the opportunity. Being a Beijing-centric student, I haven't traveled for a long period due to the Covid-19 restriction here. But after the restriction is over, I visited Shanghai and Nanjing, and currently, I am visiting the tourist spots surrounding Beijing in recent days.
Being located in the northern area, April and May are generally considered the best time to visit scenic spots in Beijing because the weather is mild and comfortable, with temperatures averaging around 20-25°C (68-77°F). Also, the spring blossoms also add to the overall beauty of the city, with flowers such as cherry blossoms and peonies blooming during this time. And so, there is more crowdedness everywhere these days as the pressure from the Covid-19 restriction is over and more people are just traveling throughout the country with huge international travelers also. The main reason behind the pressure during this time is the suitable weather conditions in Beijing are mild and pleasant and comfortable temperatures after the bitter and long winter. The skies are usually clear and sunny, making it a great time to explore the city's many outdoor attractions. The spring season in Beijing brings an array of blooming flowers everywhere, including cherry blossoms, peonies, and magnolias which add to the overall beauty of the city and make for some stunning photo opportunities in most of the scenic areas.
Except for the Labor holiday that I have experienced, there will be moderate crowd in the tourist spots on normal days compared to the peak summer season visiting Beijing during this period. But in the May holidays, I couldn't able to buy many tickets to visit some places in Beijing which means that you can enjoy the city's many attractions without having to contend with large crowds and long lines in normal days this time at lest fewer people than the winter holidays and other holidays. The mild weather makes it a perfect time to participate in outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and sightseeing. Some of the top outdoor attractions in Beijing include the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven. Today, I am going to share a hiking tour to the Hongluo Temple in the northern area of Beijing in Huairou which is completely on the mountains.
The Hongluo Temple is located in Huairou, a countryside mountain area in the northeastern part of Beijing, China. The temple is situated at the foot of Hongluo Mountain, which is known for its scenic beauty and historical significance. The temple has a long history that dates back more than 1,000 years, and it has been rebuilt several times over the centuries. One of the most notable features of the Hongluo Temple is its pagoda forest, which contains a lot of ancient pagodas on the top peaks of the mountains at some distance. Each pagoda has its own unique design and represents a different era of Chinese history and architectural marvel. The pagoda forest is one of the main attractions of the temple that draws many visitors every year from around the country and many international tourists.
The visitors can also explore many buildings in that area including the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Hall of Great Mercy, the Hall of Mahavira, and the Jade Emperor Pavilion. Though I couldn't understand those buildings I have visited all of them and taken some beautiful pictures and the statues are also very beautiful there which are very honorable who follow their religion or ideas from them.
The temple was not as crowded as I was fearing for, as my trip was on Sunday.
As I was in the morning, so most of the people starts coming in the afternoon and then while I was leaving.
Though I am a Muslim and here most of the people were doing their own religious activities, I was very careful about making any disturbance to them while taking photos. And I have taken a lot of photos of whom I don't know details but many of those statues are Buddhists I guess.
There are several souvenir shops around this temple area where a lot of statues, sculptures, and many commodities related to religious activities can be found.
I didn't buy anything but I have visited all of them to see such beautiful things and taken some shots as a memory.
The whole area is so big and to explore the beauty from the top of the mountain is so challenging. But I always love to take challenges and make a 3.5-hour mountain hike to climb to the top of the mountains where many pagodas are situated. And the view from the top was really worth it to work hard to climb to the top. Though I wanted to climb further but last part is isolated and no one was allowed to climb more!
Also, there is an area of hundreds of Buddha statues area during the climb down from the mountain which I want to share with you in my next blog as this one is going so large.
