There are so many hidden gems in Beijing that cannot be found on maps or in blogs of any travel related websites available online. I have discovered so many places on my way to explore the rural and distant places from the city area of Miyun and Huairou District. I have explored these two districts to the farthest areas with my bicycle, and thus I have visited so many unique and unpopular places that are really like hidden gems for nature lovers like me, as most of these places are filled with insane natural beauty.
Tangzhishan Reservoir is one of the lake-like water reservoirs in Shunyi District that is located in the rural area of the district near the border of the district. It is located between the Miyun and Shunyi districts, and I have been there when I was doing my cycling session to this area. I have no idea about this beautiful spot, which is located near the village area known as Jiashancun. I was just wanted to explore the mountains region in that area and luckily I found this beautiful spot to explore for some time.
The water reservoir is not so large and this place is not a tourist place but this place will definitely attract any traveller who go through this way. The concrete dam on the lakeside area is built heavily to protect the nearby village and other part is open to the mountains which can be seen clearly. Though these mountains are not so high but they enhance the beauty of the reservoir.
When I was there, the water level was not so high, but it was not so dry either, as it was like summertime weather. And so the green natural vibes is dominant in these pictures as you can see. The weather was aslo very clear and so the views are stunning with the bright light and blue sky as the background. There is a narrow channel on the opposite side of the reservoir, but I have not gone so far to explore the reservoir.
Though these mountains are not so large, one by one, they create scenic views that are really eye-catching and enjoyable. The reflection of the mountains and the greenish surroundings create a fantastic view of the area. I stopped there for around half an hour and enjoyed the fresh air and the scenic view, sitting on the dam wall of the reservoir.
