Yeah, a few family members have opted to do that and had enough to also start selling to locals. Some have stopped though, because it wasn't profitable anymore. The chicken feed became steep and if they jacked up their prices people would stop buying.

I have no idea how the big farmers are dealing with this. I know one farmer/entrepreneur, who sat with her eggs and she had the brilliant idea to produce mayonnaise, instead of letting those eggs go to waste.
