Hello, I wish you all a week filled with good wishes and hope it’s a productive one. I always believe that starting with positive energy paves the way for everything to flow more smoothly. I usually make the most of my workdays, so it goes without saying that this will be a busy week with good results. Plus, after resting this past Sunday, I feel completely recharged and my mind is clearer to tackle the tasks ahead.
Today we got up around seven in the morning because we have a very special commitment to our birds. They’re part of our daily routine, and feeding them is essential to keeping them productive. Our son wasn’t home today, and I must confess that he always helps us with this task so we can get a little more rest. However, we also enjoy taking care of them ourselves, because it’s a moment of connection with nature and with the simple life we value so much.
After taking care of some chores at home and taking some time to rest, we decided to go out and do our weekly grocery shopping. The days here on the island continue to be hot, and they’ll stay that way until the rainy season arrives, which usually begins in November and lasts through part of December. Although we don’t have a winter like other places, we do enjoy cooler, more humid months that provide relief from the stifling heat. That makes us reflect on how special it is to live in Margarita, where constantly being in a warm climate has its own charm.
Hola, les deseo una semana llena de buenos deseos y que sea productiva. Siempre pienso que comenzar con energía positiva abre el camino para que todo fluya mejor. Mis días de trabajo por lo general los aprovecho al máximo, así que está de más decirles que será una semana activa y con buenos resultados. Además, después de haber descansado este domingo que recién culminó, siento que las energías se renovaron por completo y que la mente está más clara para enfrentar las tareas que vienen.
Este día nos levantamos cerca de las siete de la mañana porque tenemos un compromiso muy especial con nuestras aves. Ellas son parte de nuestra rutina diaria y su alimentación es fundamental para que sigan siendo tan productivas. Este día nuestro hijo no estaba en casa, y debo confesar que siempre nos ayuda con esa labor para que podamos descansar un poco más. Sin embargo, también disfrutamos de atenderlas nosotros mismos, porque es un momento de conexión con la naturaleza y con la vida sencilla que tanto valoramos.
Después de cumplir con algunos deberes en casa y tomarnos un rato para descansar, decidimos salir a hacer las compras de la semana. Los días acá en la Isla continúan calurosos, y así se mantendrán hasta que llegue la época lluviosa, que suele entrar en noviembre y parte de diciembre. Aunque no tengamos invierno como en otros lugares, sí disfrutamos de meses más frescos y húmedos que alivian el clima sofocante. Eso nos hace reflexionar lo especial que es vivir en Margarita, donde estar constantemente en un clima cálido tiene su propio encanto.
I really enjoy observing and capturing the beautiful moments that the island’s natural and urban landscapes offer us. It’s true that photos can’t fully convey the tranquility that surrounds us, but at least they preserve a little piece of those moments that inspire me so much. As we wandered through the markets, I stopped several times to take in simple details: a blue sky, cars coming and going, a tree swaying in the wind. All these things are part of the everyday life that I love to share.
Me gusta mucho observar y capturar los momentos hermosos que nos regalan los paisajes naturales y urbanos de la Isla. Es cierto que las fotos no logran transmitir del todo la tranquilidad que nos rodea, pero al menos guardan un pedacito de esos instantes que tanto me inspiran. Mientras recorríamos los mercados, me detuve varias veces a contemplar detalles sencillos; un cielo azul , ir y venir de autos, un árbol moverse por el viento. Todas estas cosas forman parte de la vida cotidiana que me gusta compartir.
We decided to visit several markets because we have different tastes at home and we always try to please everyone. That search turns into a date night, a moment that my husband and I really enjoy. This year marks our twenty-eighth year together, and every outing, no matter how simple, becomes an opportunity to celebrate our time together. Amid laughter, comments, and choosing products, shopping becomes lighthearted and enjoyable.
At one of the markets, we ordered a pizza. It was delicious, and the best part was that I didn’t have to worry about preparing dinner that day. Since it was a family-size pizza, we thought of our son and decided to bring him a slice so he could enjoy it too. Those small gestures strengthen our bonds and remind us that sharing is always the best part of family life.
Decidimos recorrer varios mercados porque en casa tenemos gustos diferentes y siempre tratamos de complacer a todos. Esa búsqueda se convierte en un paseo en pareja, un momento que mi esposo y yo disfrutamos mucho. Este año cumplimos ya veintiocho años de vida juntos, y cada salida, por sencilla que sea, se transforma en una oportunidad para celebrar nuestra compañía. Entre risas, comentarios y elecciones de productos, la compra se vuelve ligera y agradable.
En uno de los mercados hicimos un pedido de pizza. Estaba deliciosa y lo mejor es que no tuve que preocuparme por preparar la comida de ese día. Como era una pizza familiar, pensamos en nuestro hijo y decidimos llevarle un pedazo para que también disfrutara. Esos pequeños gestos fortalecen los lazos y nos recuerdan que compartir es siempre la mejor parte de la familia.
The last thing we needed to buy was cheese, and we have a very clear preference: we like the kind they sell at the Río market. There, they slice it to the perfect thickness, and we’re always satisfied. With the cheese in hand, we headed home to continue our rest. That rest is vital because it allows us to face the week with serenity and a clear mind, ready to make better decisions.
Lo último que nos faltaba comprar era queso, y tenemos una preferencia muy clara; nos gusta el que despachan en el mercado Río. Allí lo lasquean al grosor ideal y siempre quedamos complacidos. Con el queso en mano, nos retiramos a casa para continuar con nuestro descanso. Ese descanso es vital, porque nos permite enfrentar la semana con serenidad y con la mente despejada, lista para tomar mejores decisiones.
That’s how our Sunday went—simple, peaceful, but deeply restorative. Sometimes you don’t need big plans to feel good; it’s enough to enjoy the everyday, the company of others, and the little details that make life more beautiful.
