Kool Herc inspired the Bronx B-boys with his Merry Go Round technique.
But if you look closely at the party flyers, it didn’t just entertain people.
Herc had a partner with a microphone in his hand.

Why don’t we start with when you hooked up with Herc?
You were in the rec room with people from the neighborhood.
"With people from the neighborhood, Herc was playing music in the living room and everyone was there dancing.
But the first time I took the microphone, I just screamed my friends' names, just screams.
There was Easy Al, Step from the Joint, Paradise, Reggie Reg.
I used to do this, my friend Reggie Reg was there and I was like:

And we were 16.

We went from 50 people to 100, from 100 to 500. They all came to our parties.
