In my eyes, Japan is one of the beautiful countries where we can enjoy its culture, food, history, and nature. Enjoying cherry blossoms, attending traditional festivals, and sampling various Japanese foods is a wonderful experience.
One of my favorites of Japan are ancient shrines. They have awesome architecture. During the New Year festival, Japanese people usually go to visit shrines, as you see there are many people in front of this ancient shrine.
Japanese foods are also my favorites. My son and my daughter-in-law celebrated the New Year with these yummy Japanese foods in her Japanese family.
Japanese art is admirable and this one is my daughter-in-law's. She won a prize and be exhibited in the Japanese exhibition hall.
Daruma doll, a Japanese lucky charm doll, represents hope, faith, and good fortune. Its distinctive features include its red, round shape, and the absence of arms and legs, similar to a roly-poly doll. A wish is often written on the chin.
Daruma dolls have no eyes because it's a form of making wishes; Japanese people actually paint black on one eye when making a wish, and then paint the other eye when the wish is granted. Once both eyes are complete, the doll is placed on an altar facing south, which is considered best. After one year, it can be offered at a shrine or burned during a festival held in Japan.
I personally love the Japanese dog, Shiba Inus. This one is my daughter-in-law’s Sheba Inu dog. He is very cute and friendly to everyone around him.
