Good day to you, followers and new readers alike!
The temperatures have been quite low these last few days and nights, and the sheep were beginning to look a little unhappy about. The barn isn't remotely ready for them, and though they certainly aren't getting frostbite out there, they also aren't feeling the heat so much either.
The quick fix for this is bedding. The sheep have been sleeping on hard cold ground or snow lately, so today, I had a big round bale of straw hauled in to cover their sleeping area in. Now there's a thick fluffy layer of clean straw to nestle into, which will much improve their spirits!
I went over and sat down in their little shelter for a while to visit with my friendly sheep and hopefully encourage the less friendly ones to be calmer in my presence. It was actually quite cozy! I was only wearing a pair of sweat pants, but sitting on that straw, I couldn't tell that only six inches away was a layer of ice and snow. I took a few pictures as the girls mibbled through the straw, looking for the occasional kernel of grain that hadn't been threshed out.
I dont think there is anything more relaxing than just sitting in the middle of a contented flock of sheep.

I also entered a new (to me) contest today! 
I'm really hoping the temperatires will rise after this weekend as they are forecasted to do. There are some things I'd like to have finished on my deck and around the yard before the pits of winter arrive. So keep your fingers crossed with me! In case you haven't noticed, I much prefer outside activities to inside ones, and the state of my kitchen would be your first clue to that.
