Hey everyone! How was your day? Here's what happened in mine...
Once I'd gotten my kids on the school bus, it was sheep chores as usual. I finally managed to capture a funny little behaviour that has been happening here on a daily basis. I think I'm going to call this guy Frank, because he's always dancing!
Every day he does this until I've brought them their food. I don't know if this is sheep-ASL for "feed me", but it's hilarious!
After chores were done, it was time to head to Saskatoon. We had won some livestock panels (and other random stuff) at a consignment auction and today was the last day to pick them up. There were some other errands to run as well. My parents had offered the use of their truck instead of taking ours, because it has a crew cab and is a little easier to drive around (ie not a stubborn standard). My toddler was determined to come with me, so away we went!
Our first stop was Peavey Mart, which is a farm supply/hardware/etc kind of store. I got a dog bed for my parents' dog, some insoles for my husband, and some new winter boots and a fancy new hat for myself, ehich I'm modelling for you here
My ears are going to be nice and toasty eh. Husband is jealous.
Then, as I left Peavey Mart, disaster struck. And by disaster I mean a snowbank, and by struck I mean my parent's truck. Which was being driven by me. I struck the snowbank with the truck.
Gently, mind you. It was more of a nudge than a strike, really. I was just taking the corner a little too tightly. There wasn't even a mark left on the snow! But it was enough to detach most of the bolts holding the passenger side running board on. Which perhaps indicates the quality of those bolts.
I had no tools, but there was some rope, so it was farmer fix time.
I picked up our panels, got lunch, went to Canadian Tire to get a UV water treatment system (there will be excited postings about this in the future), and then it was time for 
I stopped in at his shop to see if he could just undo that last bolt holding the running board on. It seemed probably safer to just have the thing off for the long drive home.
One swift kick highly technical procedure later, the running board was off. Thanks Ed! I'm accepting donations to help cover the cost of the bill.
The drive home was pretty uneventful! Toddler had a nap, I did not have a nap, and I actually made it home in time to unload before sunset! Only just.
