It finally came! That wonderful nasty stuff that makes every winter complete!
No matter the weather, the sheep still needed fed and checked on.
They all have a lovely dusting of white.
You might think they're cold and miserable, but with their built-in insulation, they're quite comfortable in this weather. Wet and wind affects them worse than cold. If they were really unhappy, they would have been huddled into the shelter all night. I think most of the ewe lambs were in there because this is their first real experience with snow. The older ladies have been there, done that, though, as you can see from all their little bedding ovals in the middle of the paddock.
One of the things that's so neat about snow is being able to clearly see the footprints of who has gone by before you. A little flock of birds must have been sampling the spilled oats outside of my bin. No doubt they've been doing it all summer, but now I know they were there!
So that was my thrilling 20 minutes of outdoor activity. Hah.
I really feel like I didn't accomplish much else today, but that's not true. The things I did were just those 'neverending' house chores that, well, never end. Dishes and laundry and sweeping and such. In my attempts to finish as much of the outdoor projects as I could lately, the housework has fallen by the wayside. So I caught up a bit today!
Thanks as always for reading! See you again tomorrow!
