Uku Chan, my dog, usually gets groomed every 3 months. I am, however, quite late sending him to the pet salon due to my busy schedule at work. The last grooming session Uku Chan had was in mid-January this year, which means it has been over 3 months. I kept being reminded by my Dad, who treats Uku Chan like his own grandchild, to send Uku Chan for grooming, because Uku Chan long coated furs makes him feel uncomfortable and hot in this recent hot weather season.
The groomer that Uku Chan has been familiar with for more than 4 years opened her own pet salon business this year. I had made an appointment with her for Uku Chan grooming session last 2 weeks but I got the slot for the following week. I think this groomer is making a successful business as many furry friends like her services.
While on the way to the pet salon via car drive by my Sister, I take last pictures of Uku Chan with his long furs. Unfortunately, I cannot get a pretty one. Uku Chan seems to be teasing me by not letting me take a nice picture of him. If Uku Chan could talk, he might said : U can't see me. (famous quote from John Cena).
The pet salon is located in an area with limited car parking space. That area also did not have a place to double park. Thus, my Sister had to drop off Uku Chan and I on the opposite side of the road and park there illegally while waiting for me return after sending Uku Chan to pet salon.
I was suddenly pulled by Uku Chan onto the other side of the grass. I allowed him to do whatever he pleased there, except for making poop because I didn't bring any plastic or scoop. I keep urging Uku Chan to do his business faster as we are under the scorching sun. After seeing Uku Chan finished releasing his pee, he wanted to go to another area opposite the pet salon. I have to be a goalkeeper, block his way to the other side and slowly lead him towards the pet salon entrance.
After entering the pet salon, I feel damn refreshing for feeling the cool air conditioner inside the premises. Whereas, Uku Chan can't wait to step inside the grooming room to meet his favorite groomer. Uku Chan still remembers her, even though he only meets her 5 times a year.
The groomer's mother manages the pet salon's counter. She was not familiar with me and asked me to sit in the other waiting room. I was a bit surprised and asked why. According to her, some pet owners will stay here until their pet is finished grooming. Then I replied, I usually leave Uku Chan to her daughter, and she'll call me when she's done grooming him. The groomer's mother praised Uku Chan because some pets feel scared or unsecure when the owner is not near them or with stranger.
I headed to work with my Sister after sending Uku Chan to the pet salon. Uku Chan finished his grooming session during my working hours. My Dad and Mum a.k.a Uku Chan's Grandpa and Grandma picked up Uku Chan from the pet salon. I asked my Mum to take some pictures of Uku Chan, and here are the results.
Uku Chan got a summer cut for his current haircut. Though Uku Chan doesn't like it, I prefer Uku Chan in shaved paws. Whenever he gets dirty, I can easily clean him up.
For people who know Uku Chan and have read my post about him before, Uku Chan started to wear shirts since January of this year. He suffers from a skin allergy and scratches his chest regularly. Now, Uku Chan has recovered from his skin allergy. For one day, I let him be naked, but he climbed on the chair and slept there at night. Usually he sleeps on the floor. The next morning, I showed Uku Chan his shirt and he climbed on me like a crazy dog. Although just a few months since January Uku Chan began wearing his shirt daily, he is unable to stay naked currently. Or, Uku Chan likes to be a fashionista?
