Hello everyone, let's see what Budapest has to offer!
We arrived late at night, because of the crowd on the border (waited 5 hours to cross). Our beautiful apartment was on Andrassy Avenue, right between New Theater and Opera House.
When I got some rest, I finished up some work and decided where to go.
Budapest is capital city of Hungary, and one of the largest cities in EU. It has a great history and architecture. The buildings are old, but well preserved. I love the feeling of "old times" that Budapest has. It's a perfect mixture of old and new, as they keep up with new trends.
We walked all around the city, visited WestEnd mall, did some shopping and had some local food. You have to try the Hungarian stew and Chimney cake!
Than we met up with some old friends at Ellato Kert & Taqueria, and let me just say, they have the best taco I ever had!
The place fills up pretty quickly, so I think you should come a little bit earlier if you want a seat.

and we walked some more..
The city is so alive and night life is great. A lot of young people, bars, music, and food. A place to be during summer.
The next day we visited Margaret Island (Margitsziget). Perfect green heaven for escaping the city heat.
It is a great place for a leisurely stroll or a picnic in fresh air after the buzz of the city. Devote half a day or at least a couple of hours to explore and enjoy the serenity on Margaret Island. It has everything you need in one place, swimming pool, restaurants, coffee shops, bikes.
And because my last name is a synonym for flowers in my language, I had to share this photo too from Margaret Island :)
I had a wonderful time, and will visit again!
Till next time,
BYE!
