Welcome my new Monstera in our HiveGarden, guys!

A terrible name for a plant, yeah? There are legends that it killed travellers and its juice is a powerful poison.
Actually, there is another version as well.
The word "monstrosus"in Latin means "miraculous", and that's all about it for sure! Actually, its juice can really cause some damage for skin, but actually, I don't have a habbit to eat my home plants;))

It was my gift to my birthday, and though it was hard to find this flower in our city, my Daddy managed to get it.

I wanted to have this very plant because it's bvery unusual anf unique. It looks very special and exotic, but the main reason was the benefits it can give to the house.

First of all, it's one of plants that generate oxygen all day and night long even without sun.
Moreover, it cleans the air and eliminates dangerous elements.

I like its specific leaves most of all. It has holes inside! Looks really weird and very interesting.
There are some theories about the origin of these holes, and scientists think that the reason can be hidden in the lack of sunlight in tropics, and the plant helps the light pass through leaves and reaches the lowest ones.

It's a tropical plant, so it likes warmth and water very much,. But it doesn't like watering abundantly. What a paradox;) It likes moisturing of leaves and cool shower. And despite its roots go from the southern countries, monstera doesbn't like open sunlights, so I don't put it near the window.

There are some kinds of Monstera, and mine is called (Monstera 'Monkey Mask'):))

I only start my acquaintance with this plant, and I hope we will be friends with it.

Now it decorates a shelf in my son's room. And I think such alive plants is much better gift than any other bouquets that will die in s couple of days.

Guys, what do you know if this plant?
Maybe some advice how to take care of it?
