Is spatial thinking necessary for kids? What age is approproate for this kind of knowlege?

To tell you the truth, I was sure we'll touch this topic not earlier than geometry will come to my son's life. Now when he is 7 he doesn't need it.

Actually, I was mistaken. This knowledge is an important backgroud for future geomentry course, without any doubt, but what is more important is that it helps him to understand many ordinary things around him right now!

I adore teaching and studying through games, because it makes education full of fun and joy, and kids really like it in this case.

We have a lot of educational materials that propose games for different topics, we avoid ordinary boring tasks as much as we can. So when I saw this very book in the marketplace I was interested but passed by because didn't get what it proposed.

BUT my son was wiser than me and asked this very book! I didn't know why, but he asked it very long and much. He saw these cubes and fell in love at once.
And - one more important thing - he saw words "3D" and as my friends here know we have 3D-bussiness connected with 3D-modelling and printing, so it's familiar for him.
He sees his Dad does it, so he wants to do the same, like a little monkey:))

We bought this book for 8$, that is rather much because it's not thick, but it consists of great amount of sticks, and moreover, it's so interesting that it can cost much more!

All tasks help kids to understand spatial thinking and the way how shapes are located in the space.
It consists of 800 sticks!! and different tasks to use them all.

A kid should make simple shapes at first,

it's his first try to understand how figures should be sticked to create this big 3D-cube

then the complexity rises and sometimes it is not easy even for me to build all shapes and pictures in the right way at once;)

The book teaches a kid to see the difference between dimetric and isometric projections, and it's cool knowledge for 7 years. When somebody hears such words from my but, they are shocked;))

And now my boy is proud that he is making something similar to his Dad's job - 3D-modelling.
He says: "I am modelling", and it's co sute to hear these words from a 7-year old boy, but actually he really does;))
