The Ottomans built this fortress before conquest Istanbul (formerly Constantinople) in order to control the Byzantines supply ways.
Today it is one of the most symbolic and touristic buildings of Istanbul.
Since it is nearby to where i live, i like to take pictures of it from time to time as i pass by.
