I think most cricket lovers thought that Bangladesh would develop faster in Test cricket than they have managed to but at the same time in the T20 era we know it's very difficult for long form cricket to compete against white ball cricket. In that sense the slow progress of Bangladesh in Tests is mirrored by the fall in results of sides like Sri Lanka who many hoped Bangladesh would be able to emulate with their success on the global stage
