I've read similar in terms of the brain not really producing thoughts but merely reflecting it from higher levels. It'll be really hard to create true sentient artificial creatures without understanding the finer or rather subtle aspects of reality. I think THEY are not much bothered with that also and just want to create a tool that will further enslave humanity into virtual puppets incapable of thinking for themselves. I sometimes feel like the current AI narrative is a subtle attack on human thinking, stripping it from its essence.
