Usually, boletes appear in mid-July but this is an early specimen. Also, it seems that some critters have been impatient and tasted it already. Boletes grow widely in the forest in my country, and many people collect them. Mushrooms here are eaten fresh, preserved for winter or dried. In the past, people have used mushrooms to dye cloths and yarn. I have seen many beautiful examples of various tones of brown and red, though, I have never tried myself. Somehow I feel guilty to pull a mushroom from the ground and prefer to admire them and take photos instead.
I again went wild with my photos but I wanted to mask the fact that they are taken on my phone.
