I think that Scotland will gain independence eventually. The trend of the future will be smaller and smaller nations, even though some idiots desire 'one world government'.

I think the closer you are to your ruler, the more chance you can slap them in the face when they eventually deserve it. I try to rule myself and you'd be surprised how often I need a good slap. ;)
