On my day off from work, I chose to return to my hometown to visit my family who had not seen each other for a long time, because since the government's lockdown was enforced, I was limited to traveling out of town.

Arriving in my hometown and greeting the family there, I rushed to the kitchen. there was already my brother's pet chicken which seemed to be waiting for food and I fed them.

The atmosphere in the kitchen. which seems to have just been used for cooking, reminds me of my parents' cooking, who cooked nasi lemak which is my favorite food in the village, the sense of pleasure that still lingers until now makes me want to go back to tasting whatever dishes are cooked in this kitchen, maybe because of the distinctive smell left by the smoke from burning firewood twigs while cooking, or because of the historical value that is attached to the minds of village children living in the seas now like me.

The furnaces used in the past were made of clay that was molded manually with the crafts of adults and even children helped it, just by mixing selected soil and a little water, the furnace can be shaped as needed. It reminds me of my childhood, when I helped my parents build a stove.

In the past, cooking pots or containers were also made of clay, but with changing times this is rarely done in villages, because now everything is practical, just use a pot bought in the market which is more durable and not easily broken.

Besides that, firewood is very easy to get around the house, because dry twigs and branches can be collected from the yard of each resident's house and even the wealth is very abundant. Like a coconut tree that provides everything we need, including coconut shells, leaves, dry coconut husks, all of which are easily available.

As for coconuts, both young and old coconuts can be consumed directly as young coconuts, and the old ones can be extracted with coconut milk and many other benefits.

Even coconut leaves can be made into a simple kitchen wall, simply by taking the leaves that are still attached to the stalk and woven as beautifully as possible, as seen in the picture I took below;

as if nothing is more beautiful and impressive than witnessing human life that is always friendly with nature.
Likewise my post this time, I hope it will be useful and entertain my hive friends, and satisfy my thirst for knowledge about the atmosphere of living in the village. May we be given health to meet on another occasion.
