Just looked at their roadmap. Well, that didn't take long. So they want to offer services and be paid in minereum, which will then be burned. I dont know. The only usecase they thought of - basically -

But it's an ethereum token, why would anyone bother with minereum and not just use ethereum as their blockchain? Or any of the others that support ITOs? What is Minereums technological advantage/innovation?

That's the advantage of this new world: Low transaction costs (let's ignore BTCs current state ;) You can take $100 and divide them among... let's say 5 coins/tokens. Buying 5 different stocks would eat

There's no immediate need to understand that traditional system though. It's just there. The more effort switching requires, the fewer will bother to do it as long as they don't have to...
