In meditation there are very rare, and fortunate, cases of beginners who can practice thirty seconds without interruption. Most are amazed at how little time they are able to concentrate without being distracted.
100% Agree with this. I started meditating about a month ago and it has been difficult for me to get into a routine. Like you say one of the first things I noticed was how surprisingly difficult It was for me to be able to not think about anything for even thirty seconds. Just trying to focus on breathing was a struggle....just goes to show how much rubbish we have flying around in our heads.
There is a noticeable difference though from mediating and as the days go on it gets easier and my general focus and thoughts become clearer.
