David Hanson talks with a media after 'Tech-talk with Sofia' at the Digital World, the biggest tech expo in Bangladesh. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Hanson Robotics. This interview has taken by “Prothom Alo” a Bangladeshi prominent media on 6-12-2017.
Robot will be alive in five to ten years. "Speaking firmly with the Robot Sophia's creator, David Hanson. What does he mean? David Hanson said that people live in a physiological system. Robot will also be arranged in artificial brain, anatomy, blood circulation. Besides, the immune system we will also be added to the robot in the human immune system. It means that the robot itself can be repair with mechanical problems or errors. Everything will be based on the principles of complex mathematics. That is how Robots will be alive.
David Hanson said, "Sophia's artificial intelligence is creative and adaptive to the world. That means, through special software, Sofia can enrich her own database from her surroundings. Sophia's algorithm programming is unique so that she can use her own intelligence as like human.
If the robot will become the rival of mankind in the future? Hanson said, 'Never. Robot will help humanity and be cared for humanity. Still more research is going on with Sofia. Hanson showed a video from his mobile phone. This video is still unreleased, Sophia has been fitted, hand pinched. In the video, Sofia shook hands and feet this test is going on in Korea. Hanson said, "Sophia walks, runs, he will take part in the rescue. We started a new test with her. There is a huge change in the new application of Sofia. Special applications will also be created.
Why do not have hair on Sofia? Hanson said, 'Because he's a robot. We wanted her voice and facial expression to be as normal as human. But his whole body should be like a machine. Otherwise, many people might think of him as a man. We do not want that.
Sophia's body has numerous instruments. She has made a lot of censors, cameras, chips, and motors. The artificial intelligence program is written in such a way that she can interpret words and sentences and answer her words from his database. Sophia is connected to the Internet via wireless Wi-Fi network. Using cloud technology, he collects, analyzes and converts information into speech. That is how he shakes his lips. The whole process is so fast that Sophia can run an instant conversation.
