While the coronavirus pandemic grips the whole world, the spring is at its peak in my homeland. The desire to return to my home is far fulfilled, yet a few pictures that came from home brought a feeling of contentment. But even pictures have two sides to them, on one hand, they did bring satisfaction while on the other hand, they made me feel what I am missing. At this time of the year, I would go visit orchids and gardens with my friends for there are many that have been bestowed upon my homeland.
If I was asked to chose one season for which I wanted to be home, I would choose none but spring as it bears the glory in the name itself. While I might not make it home for this year's spring, I will be longing for the next one and I will make sure that desire is fulfilled.
I pay my gratitude towards my cousin who ventured out to his apple orchid to click a few pictures for me. I only wished to see a few pictures if he had them but he had none. I told him to click a few upon his next visit but he returned only an hour later with these pictures.
The pictures you see are of apple trees which is in full bloom ready to bear the fruits once the season shifts. These flowers bear a pleasant scent that refreshes the mind and soul. Of course, not all the flowers end up giving what we desire but they do light a ray of hope when they blossom.
The huge density of flowers can be seen in the picture means that this tree will have more fruit if not for any calamities. Lesser the density of the flowers, lesser will be the fruits.
There are plenty of apple tree breeds in the world. If sources are to be believed, Kashmir produces more than 70 types of apples on its land, however, the most common breed in Kashmir is called "delicious". Normally, it would take eight years for a "delicious" tree to witness it's the first fruit.
You see these small round structures, that's what stays and becomes an apple. The rest of the flower supports it for a while and then ultimately dies down. Not all of these round structures known as buds remain attached, a few are taken away by the winds and rains.
I would give anything just to see this sight myself for just a few moments. I wish to be there, yet, I remain far from paradise longing to be there soon.
I hope you liked the pictures.
