Let's talk about down-voting/ flagging on Palnet

One of the features you may or may not be aware of on Palnet is the 1 free 100% downvote that you can utilize each day.

So if you downvote something at 100%, it's used up and subsequent downvotes will come from your voting power. You can downvote in smaller percentages and have more of your free flag. (I am using the terms flag/downvote interchangeably here) So that could be 2 50% flags, 5 20%, etc.

One of the main reasons the moderator team received larger drops was the use of these flags in situations that warrant them.

I figure it's time to announce what my current personal flagging system is (Other mods may have the same or possibly different rules they set for themselves) This is NOT the guidelines for @nopal4u as we are still working on that as a team. Keep in mind that is this for the Palnet side of things, my Steem side is insignificant and does very little to the rewards there.

So. Right now I have 4 accounts that I am flagging or keeping an eye on for flags.

The reason is they are automatic posts that are a headline and a link to an offsite article. In my eyes it's plagiarism and something that I am against people gaining rewards for.

That's it. That's my guideline for right now.

@techwizardry is the main focus as they are the largest offender that I have found on Palnet. Every 3 or 4 hours a new junk post is made with zero content. Here's an example of an average post from this "content creator"

Top notch, huh? Not so much.

These are the types of accounts that do zero to add value to the platform and suck from the pool.

So I urge you, if you are one of the people that votes for this account to save your VP and vote elsewhere, you will not be getting any curation from it as I will be removing all of the rewards that I can. If you see any other accounts like this, please feel free to alert me here and I will take a look.

I will update my personal guidelines as they become necessary to make sure that post rewards get into the hands to as many real content creators as possible.

Let me add an edit to this: Be aware that a flag on Palnet also flags on Steem with equal vp power. The only difference is your stake and you will be using Steem vp each time. That said, it will get tricky trying to balance flags and may result in your account on one platform being hit in retaliation. Always be aware that a flag may have consequences!
