hugenots aren't "protestants"... real protestants are catholics who wanted the lending/credit/interests forbidden to them by the roman church from the jewish hands... my 2 cents. the rest is narrative (aka arbeit macht frei) and so called wealth display ban used as decoy to hide the insane wealth harvested from interest lending :).
