Sharing is beautiful, be it news or science. before I write more broadly, then I wish you a happy Eid al-Fitr, I hope that the above gives kindness to all of us.

Maybe only some people have heard the name of this animal, but it is different when you see the shape. Her name is lady bug, but ordinary people know her as a ladybug, even though this is not a ladybug nation at all, because this tiny animal enters the type of beetle, the koksi beetle. Lady bugs are pretty much found around us, especially in plantations and weeds.

Thousands of different species of ladybug, which are scattered throughout the world. Besides being known as a lady bug, this insect is also named another lady beetle or ladybird beetle. Insects look very beautiful with various body motifs and colors.

Most people really like this insect, because of its beautiful shape, besides this animal is not dangerous even for babies. But farmers like it, because some species of these insects eat small insects that become agricultural pests. Just one lady bug, can eat 5000 pests in one lifetime.

Although there are also several species of ladybug that eat leaves, so they can also become pests for farmers. The biggest size of a ladybug is 1 cm only.

The main predators of these beautiful insects are birds, spiders, or other insects that are larger in size. Ladybug often pretends to die when meeting these predators.

The koksi beetle has a distinctive appearance that is easily distinguished from other insects. His body was almost round in shape with a pair of hard wings on his back. The hard wings on his back are colorful, but they are generally striking in color coupled with patterns like polka-dot.

The colorful hard wings are actually the elitra wings or the front wings. The rear wing is transparent and is usually folded under the front wing when not in use.

When flying, it flaps its rear wings quickly, while its stiff front wings cannot flap and stretch to increase lift. The hard front wing can also function like a protective shield.

The koksi beetle has short legs and a head that looks bent down. This position of the head helps him when eating small animals such as aphids. On his feet there are also microscopic fine hairs (can only be seen with a microscope) which ends like a spoon. This hair produces oily material that is sticky so that ladybugs can walk and stick to difficult places such as on the glass or on the ceiling.

Like most insects, the koksi beetle in the four-season region also hibernates (long sleeps in winter). Koksi beetles usually gather in large numbers in places such as under logs, bark, or leaf deposits when hibernating. During that long sleep period, they survived by making use of the food supply in their bodies

In leaf-eating ladybugs, new females lay eggs in plants and leave a bite pattern on the leaves so that no other females lay eggs in the same plant. In the four-season region, if a female ladybug fails to find a suitable plant until the end of winter, the female ladybug will delay the release of her eggs until the winter ends.

Ladybugs as members of the order Coleoptera (beetles) experienced a perfect metamorphosis: eggs, larvae, cocoons, and adults. The eggs are oval and yellow. These eggs usually hatch about one week after being first released. Larvae generally have a long body appearance, covered with feathers, and six legs. These larvae live by eating in accordance with the parents' food and as they grow large, they change their skin.

Larvae that have reached a certain size will then stop eating and enter the cocoon phase at the age of two weeks from the first time they hatch. This cocoon usually attaches to objects such as leaves or twigs and is yellow and black. The next adult ladybug will come out of the cocoon after about a week. The new wings that came out were still fragile and pale yellow so that he would sit quietly for a moment to harden his wings before he began his activities.

AND it turns out, the lady bug is not only on the mainland (but I don't have a picture). Even at sea there's a ladybug. Sea ladybug is one type of amphipoda. Its polka-dotted and beautiful body makes the amphipoda also known as the sea ladybug. The biggest ones only reach 3 millimeters in size. This animal has habitat in algae and sea apple, sponge or tunicate.

Amphipods are malacostracan crustaceans without carapace with a compressed lateral body. Most of these amphipods are quite small in size.

There are more than 9,000 known species of amphipods, and most are marine animals, although they are also found in almost all aquatic environments. Some species, which are around nearly 2000, live in freshwater, and some even include land animals and sandhoppers such as Talitrus saltator.

The body of an amphipod is divided into 13 segments, which can be grouped into the head, chest and stomach. The head is fused with the chest, and there are two pairs of antennas and a pair of sessile compound eyes, and the mouth is mostly hidden under the head.

Because of its smallness, the beauty of the sea is quite difficult to find. Apart from his ability to adapt physiologically to the place where he lives. And these animals are quite easy to get in the vast ocean.
