In Suldal, Norway they have a lot of great spots for salmon fishing. That's if you know how to catch a salmon. Which I don't.

I decided to do a roadtrip alone in the beautiful area Suldal. It's where my familiy's cabin is located and I love this place.
After 30 minutes of driving I got to a stunning river where some German tourists were fishing for salmon.

See the guy fishing in the light brown outfit?

I asked if I could try, and I thought I'd be better at, because I grew up fishing in the ocean. Turns out that salmon fishing is a lot more complicated, and it's safe to say I wasn't very good at it - and I didn't catch anything.
The line got tangled and I also almost fell in to the river. They laughed so hard at me and after a while I just had to go back to the cabin, returning to something I'm really good at: painting the outside of the cabin!

But on the way I stopped for an ice cream and walked around at Ryfylke Fjord Hotel. So gorgeous!
It's nice to be a tourist in your own country sometimes.

What are you doing this summer?

Susanne
