Have you ever heard about Amorphophallus titanum? I didn't know about it until we got to botanical garden in volunteer part in Seattle.
This botanical garden has something special that you won't usually see in most of other botanical gardens, ie. Amorphophallus titanum. When we got there, it was still small and hadn't blossom yet. What's famous about this plant is its notorious smell when it blossoms. It's like the smell from dead body, and thus owns itself another name as corpse flower. It won't be a pleasant visit when it blossoms. Before blossom, it doesn't smell at all.
The plant can live up to 150 years. It's the biggest flower in the world. Usually it only blossoms two to three times in their life time. I guess this is why it's so hard to see it blossoms, as otherwise, regardless the smell, you would still want to be close it in person.
大家听说过尸体花吗？ 它别名大王花，泰坦魔芋，尸臭魔芋是世界上最大的花。生命期内只开花两到三次。它和一般的花不同，臭的惊人，闻起来很像腐烂尸体气味，因此被称为“尸体花”。我也是在西雅图的一家公园里第一次见到它。我们去的时候，它还在生长中，没有开花。但是也很好地普及了一下知识。这种植物可以长到150 岁。由于开花少，一般间隔数十年，所以很少有机会能够真正见到它的花。否则哪怕是恶臭无比，我也要去看看这难得的花。
