I decided to test a new technique I read about on a hammer handle I have, it's very simple process. First, a put a few coats of linseed oil are applied to a freshly sanded handle. After that a butane torch was used to charred the handle, then another quick sanding. Final step, while the handle is still hot, was to melt bees wax on the wood.
