Why was Proverbs written by Solomon? The King of Israel wanted you to have wisdom, understanding and he wanted to give instructions to you. The benefits of his observations, his exeptional wisdom & yes his experiments are conveyed to you in this book of wisdom.
Reader do you realise the wonderful gift that has been given to you! King Solomon, the wisest King ever, wants to privately tutor you in the wisdom of life! Oh reader we should be so thankful for this gift.
King Solomon was given more wisdom and understanding than any other man by The Living God Himself. ( 1 Kings 3:9–12 ). Solomon wrote the book of proverbs so that he could share his observations and wisdom in short saying for your profit reader. Because Solomon was rich, attractive, powerful and exceedingly intelligent, which gave him great freedom for observing and testing, God gave him the opportunity to test and experiment with many different things more than any other man.
King Solomon's social experiments and observations regarding a man's life is described in the book of Ecclesiastes, where he also gave some of his wise answers in there. But through his many proverbs he primarily taught the many people and also now you, the reader.
The power of right judgement, is to know wisdom, and this is what King Solomon wants you to do. Knowing what to do in every situation is wisdom. King Solomon will tell you later that wisdom is the principle thing and that you must have it. ( Proverbs 4:7 )
Who would instruct you in successful living without the book of proverbs dear reader? By giving you the teaching of knowledge, understanding and wisdom, King Solomon wants you, the reader, to know instruction. Yes, he will be the teacher and you dear reader, will be the student. Isn't that just an amazing and blessed privilege!
By the teaching of The Holy Spirit through our Lord Jesus Christ is the ultimate source of understanding and wisdom! ( Colossians 1:9–11 ) In Christ Jesus all the treasures of knowledge and wisdom are found. ( Colossians 2:3 )
