So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain;
which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.
Dear reader, do you know what leads to certain ruin? Sin and folly. Sinners and fools are going down, and to stop it there is nothing they can do. ( Proverbs 11:21 ). People or individuals who are murderous and greedy will be destroyed by their own violence and their own ambition. Even if they are warned numerous times, and even when they see other wicked men cut off, they still continue towards their ruin via their paths of mischief.
King Solomon's son was loved by his father, and Solomon only wanted the best for him in his life and in his reign. So to warn his son about the dangers of having evil friends, King Solomon used a parable about cutthroats. ( Proverbs 1:10–19 ). Though showing these individuals' wickedness by the wording, he supplied their words, which were enticing, to join them. ( Proverbs 1:10–14 ). These individuals would surely get his son into trouble, so he warned him to stay away from them. ( Proverbs 1:15–16 ). Finally, their total destruction was foretold by him. ( Proverbs 1:17–19 ).

Young men who think they can get away with sin and folly are just like birds - STUPID. Even though a fowler will spread a net while the bird is watching and in plain sight, the bait is too appealing for the bird, and as soon as the fowler is out of dight the bird will fly into the trap so as to get the bait. The very net that the bird ignored is the same net that kills the bird. Young fools are killed by the certain judgement of men, and of God, regardless of the fact that they have heard about it before and that they have seen happen to others. How foolish!
